DS-RX1 v2.05 Firmware Update

This is to inform you that DNP Photo Imaging released on its website a free firmware v 2.05 for the DS-RX1 printer

Upgrade RX1 printers to High Speed (HS)

This upgrade of the RX1 firmware to v.2.05 confers to the DS-RX1 printer all the specifications of the DS-RX1HS (High Speed) printer, including a increased throughput by up to 20%.

Firmware v2.05 works only with RX1HS media!

The DS-RX1 printer upgraded with firmware v.2.05 will not work anymore with the RX1 media.

Just like the DS-RX1HS printer, the DS-RX1 printer upgraded with firmware v.2.05 can only work with media labeled “RX1HS”, as indicated below:

REMINDER:

After the RX1 printer is upgraded, the downgrade is not possible.
Also, as opposed to RX1HS and RX1 printers upgraded with firmware v.2.05 that work exclusively with RX1HS media, the RX1 printers with previous firmware versions work perfectly with both RX1 and RX1HS media.

Therefore, before the upgrade, please make sure that your stock of RX1 media is empty.

In order to maintain the RX1HS printer v2.04 with the latest firmware, customers can also upgrade their RX1HS printers to v2.05.

SPECIAL CAUTION FOR ENGINEERS REPAIRING
RX1 and RX1HS PRINTERS:

If a RX1HS media roll is used in a RX1 printer, and then the same roll is placed in a RX1HS printer, it will not be possible to print with this latter printer.

Consequently, it is necessary to use 2 different rolls of media for testing the RX1 printers and the RX1HS printers.

And now that the customers can turn their RX1 printer into RX1HS printer with the firmware v.2.05, it is necessary to check the firmware version to choose which media roll to use for testing the printer.
